I don't have a problem with emailing people and saying their copy of WordPress is out of date. That's fine. But deliberately giving deceitful information in an attempt to gain clients through fear, uncertainty and doubt is *not* the way to attract clients.

    There was no spam campaign, if I contacted you, I was either fighting negative SEO or copyright infringement on a site you own or work on. Nevertheless, I don’t work for that organization anymore and looking back – could have went about this in a different way. Apologies…

      Appreciate the comment. It’s been so long, I can’t even remember the context when this happened but 5 years is a long time and we’ve probably all learned a lot since then. When you get a lot of unsolicited email, scams, and backlink fishing, it’s pretty easy to assume everything is a scam in some way or another.
