How to create an iPhone ringtone in 2 minutes

I used to have a dumb phone. It was one of those LG deals with a slide-out keyboard that made it okay for texting. I was super-excited to finally get an iPhone and jump into the 20th Century with everyone else, but found it more difficult to get custom ringtones and sounds on my iPhone… Continue reading How to create an iPhone ringtone in 2 minutes

Free Calendar Wallpaper: Snowflakes

A lot of snow and a little bit of holiday cheer has just piled up outside and inside our house and so I thought it would be a perfect time to use some of the fun experimental texture pictures of shiny colorful holiday lights we took last year.

Free October Calendar Wallpaper: Good Morning

This month’s wallpaper comes out of a long-exposure shot I took sometime in the pre-dawn hours a couple months ago.  As I was staring at my computer screen  at more or less the same time, it seemed an appropriate start for a new wallpaper.  T…

Free Calendar Wallpaper: Meditation

We just got back from a camping trip where we spent several days in a tent, surrounded by redwood trees. It’s easy to forget there’s a world outside our computer monitor sometimes, a world with only the noise of water dripping onto le…

Free Calendar Wallpaper: August Deadwood

Each wallpaper comes in calendar, non-calendar, Twitter, iPad and iPhone variations in the following sizes: Widescreen 1920×1200 1680×1050 1440×900 Standard 1600×1200 1280×960 1152×864 iPad 768×1024 iPhone 320×480 Twitter 1920×1200 (optimized to <800k) Download August Deadwood 23.84MB downloaded 653 times Mirror site (customize.org)

Avoid holding your iPhone 4G

There’s a phenomena with the new iPhone that, since I don’t own one and have a waning interest in ever owning one, I was unaware of before reading a blog post in the New York Times.  It seems that, for many users, if you hold the iPhone in a certain way, the very act of holding… Continue reading Avoid holding your iPhone 4G

Free Desktop Wallpaper: Forecast

Okay I admit it.  I have been reading too many steampunk novels recently because this is what spilled out of my subconcious when I sat down to create a new wallpaper.  Clockwork, ancient tomes filled with long lost technology, a mixture of organic a…

signs that Adobe Flash is on the way out

i’ll spare the discussion of how Flash is dead because Steve Jobs says it is. while i agree with him on all of his points, i’m not really into the all bow to the great and mighty Steve camp, even while the rest of the industry bows to the great and mighty Steve.  (i may… Continue reading signs that Adobe Flash is on the way out
